Overview

  • Coursedog’s Scribe Generator converts existing requirements and their rules into Degree Works scribe with a single click.

  • The ability to convert requirements to scribe is useful for copying Simple Requisites/Requirements in Curriculum Mangament to the Scribe application.

  • It appears as a “Convert to Scribe” button in the Simple Requirements view. You can learn more about simple requirements here.

  • If you don’t see a “Convert to Scribe” button in your UI and would like to use it, talk to your Customer Success representative.

Scribe Anatomy

  • When you convert a requirement block to scribe, the scribe block will include both the requirement rules as well as a “block header”.

  • The block header is based on the requirement name (e.g. Major in Accounting), the school name, and the effectiveDate (year) range (startTerm and endTerm) for the given program (e.g. 2020-2022).

  • This header is included for ALL requirement blocks/text we generate.

  • The below screenshot shows a complete scribe conversion result, with the block header at top and the requirement rules underneath.
