Unable to Find a Course, Program, Course Set, or Requirement Set When I Search for It 

Problem Overview

You’re searching for a course, program, course set, or requirement set, but you don’t see what you’re looking for in the results. 


Solution Overview

  • If you are searching for an effective dated object like a course, program, course set, or requirement set using the Search Bar and do NOT see it displayed as a result, this might be because your “Effective Start Term” and “Effective End Term” parameters at the top need to be adjusted. 

  • Note the “effective end” filter will not appear if your school has “Enable Effective End Date Filters” set to “No” in the Admin Panel (“No” is the recommended setting for most schools). 

Detailed Explanation

  • Let’s assume CD100 is only effective starting Aug 1, 2022.

  • If no values are provided in the Effective Date parameters at the top, these fields will default to using the Current Active Term (found in Settings > Terms) as the effective start date.

  • If the effective term has start dates PRIOR to Aug 1, 2022, then CD100 will NOT be shown as a result when searching for it in the Courses Dashboard.

  • You should adjust the Effective Date parameters in the Courses/Programs Dashboard as desired to see CD100, or adjust the Current Active Term (found in Settings > Terms).
