Proposing Changes to Your Existing Syllabi

Overview

Faculty users who wish to edit a syllabus can “Propose Changes”, which will send those changes through an approval workflow.
Requested changes to a syllabus will apply to that syllabus as soon as the request is approved via the workflow.

To find your syllabi:

Navigate to Syllabus > Syllabi.
Select the Syllabus Group your current syllabi are part of.
Locate your syllabus/syllabi in the list. If needed, you can use the search function and search for your name (or click “Filter” to apply a filter).

Step 1: Follow the steps under “Viewing Your Syllabi” to find the syllabus you’d like to edit.

Step 2:

Click your syllabus to open it.
Instead of an “Edit” button, you will only see a “Propose Changes” option in the Actions menu.

Step 3: Click “Propose Changes”.

Step 4:

Select the form you’ll use to submit your proposed changes.
This is similar to choosing a form at the beginning of the submission process – look for the form that your department or institution has instructed you to use, or look for the form labeled with your department or relevant academic unit. It’s also likely that there is only one Edit Form for each Syllabus Group, in which case select the one option presented.

Step 5:

Click “Submit.”
Clicking “Submit” will open a form with the existing syllabus data. This form may be identical to the form used to submit the syllabus, or it may be longer or shorter.

Step 6: Make any changes you’d like and ensure that all required fields are populated.

Step 7: Once that’s complete, click “Submit Proposal”.

The requested changes will go through a workflow and will be reflected on the syllabus if approved.
