Overview
A syllabus proposal can be edited if you have the required permissions to do so.
Depending on your permissions, you may be able to edit a Proposal without resetting the Workflow, or an edit may reset the Workflow and send it back to the first step.
Related Permissions
If you don’t see the “Edit Request” button when viewing a proposal, that means the way your institution configured permissions doesn’t allow you to edit proposals.
Reach out to your Coursedog admin if you have any questions.
How to Edit a Proposal
Step 1: Click “Proposals” on the left-hand navigation to open the Proposals Dashboard.
Step 2:
Select the “Created by Me” tab.
This tab includes all Proposals you have submitted.
Step 3: Select your proposal.
Step 4: Click the “Edit Request” button above the Request Toolbox.
Step 5: Edit your Proposal as needed, and click the “Save Changes” button.
Step 6:
If you do not have permission to edit a proposal without resetting the workflow (this is controlled by Syllabus admins in Curriculum > Settings > Roles), your request to edit the proposal will reset the workflow and send the proposal back to the first step in the workflow. This ensures that the workflow includes up-to-date information and that edits cannot be made after approvals have been given.
If you do have permission to edit a proposal without resetting the workflow, you will see a modal that allows you to choose to reset the workflow or to not reset the Workflow. If you do have permission to edit a proposal without resetting the workflow, the recommendation is that you do not reset the workflow so that approvers do not have to complete duplicate work.
Tracking Your Proposal
Open your proposal and click the “Workflow” tab in the Request Toolbox to see the proposal’s progress through the workflow once your edits have been submitted.
