Setting Up the Course Preview Template
Overview
- The Course Preview Template is a drag-and-drop form builder, similar to other form builders in Coursedog.
- You can drag fields/questions from the “Question Bank” on the left-hand side of the screen and then drop them onto your template on the right.
- There are two question types: Custom Fields and Course Template Questions; Course Template Questions are pre-built fields.
- A WYSIWYG editor is available under “Custom Fields”.
Best Practices
While the same options are available within course preview template as within course page template, for optimal performance, we recommend avoiding options which result in accordion-style drop-downs (e.g., requisites, degree maps).
You should only have one (1) column. In other words, even though you can technically add two fields side by side on a single card, you should only have one for Course Preview Templates.
Assigning a Course Preview Template to a Catalog
Navigate to Catalog > Settings > (Select your desired catalog).
Click into the “Catalog Course Preview Template” field to open a drop down menu; this will allow you to select from the course preview templates you have previously created.
Select one to apply it to the chosen catalog.
Public-Facing View
The course preview template applies to the sidebar course preview modal as well as the center pop-up course preview modal.
