Overview

  • You can limit which roles can see an individual catalog in the Coursedog UI by using the “Allowed Roles” setting in the Edit Catalog modal.

  • This allows you to streamline the experience based on role. If, for example, you publish both an Undergraduate and Graduate catalog, you might wish to hide the Undergraduate catalog from Graduate content creators, and vice versa. You can accomplish that with the “Allowed Roles” setting.

  • Only users with appropriate permissions (i.e., “Edit Public Catalog Settings” set to ALLOW) can change the “Allowed Roles” setting to manage which roles can access which catalogs.

  • If you wish to fully prevent an older catalog from appearing in page change requests regardless of a user’s role, you can do that by using our “archive” feature. Learn more about archiving catalogs
