“Too many requests in a really short time” Error

Problem Overview

An end user submitted requests in the Public Events site and received a message that reads, “"Looks like you've submitted too many requests in a really short time. Please try again later."

Explanation

There is a limit of 10 requests for every 5 minutes in the public site; this is to prevent spam and ensure data integrity.

Duplicate Requests Created

Problem Overview

A user only intended to create a single request/proposal but multiple requests are appearing.

Explanation

This can happen if you click the call-to-action button (e.g. “Submit”, “Submit Request”, or “Submit Event Request”) more than once when submitting a request/proposal.

Solution

  • If multiple proposals are created, anyone with the “Delete Requests” permission can delete the duplicates.

  • If you don’t have this permission, you can reach out to your Coursedog admin for assistance.

Best Practice

Only click the call-to-action button once and wait for the next page to load.

Unable to Submit Request (Response Status: 422)

Problem Overview

You attempt to submit an event request but instead receive an error that says “failed custom validation because name is of type undefined, but expected type string”.

Explanation

This can happen if the Event Form is missing the “Event Name” field.

Solution

  • If you have permission to modify the form, add the “Event Name”.

  • If you do not have permission to edit forms, reach out to your Coursedog admin for help adding it.
