What is the Section Dashboard?
The Section Dashboard is the home base for your work in Academic Scheduling.
Depending on your role and related permissions, it allows you to find, view, and edit sections, add sections and courses, and view schedules by term.
It has the same functionality as the Section Editor with an improved UI that supports customizable columns, sorting, saved views, and custom reporting.

How do I edit a section without the Section Editor?
The Section Dashboard contains the same section editing modal you’re used to in the Section Editor.
In fact, getting to that modal now takes one less step. Simply navigate to the Section Dashboard and click on the section you wish to edit.
If you have any additional questions, our Section Configuration, Assigning Instructors, Assigning Rooms, and Assigning Meeting Patterns articles have been updated to reflect using the Section Dashboard.
I don’t see the Section Editor any more. Is this a bug?
No, this isn’t a bug. The Section Editor was replaced by the Section Dashboard.
This means that the Section Dashboard is visible for all users and the Section Editor no longer exists for Scheduling users.
Two other changes have also occurred: the “View Section Dashboard” permission no longer exists and the “View Other Department Schedules” permission now applies to all roles, rather than only the prebuilt Department Scheduler role.
Why was the Section Editor removed?
The Section Dashboard is replacing the Section Editor because the Dashboard offers an improved user experience and additional functionality while maintaining all of the section creation and editing functionality you’re used to.
The Dashboard includes customizable and sortable columns, saved views, and the ability to export a custom report.
Why can’t I search or filter by instructor?
Because the Dashboard allows users to add and remove columns to their Dashboard view, search by instructor would often return confusing results by pulling in the Instructor field, even if it was not displayed.
Expect to be able to filter by “Instructor” by the end of March. That enhancement will improve the expected accuracy of search results while still giving users the ability to filter by Instructor.
