FAQs

Is it possible to reorder questions in preference forms?

To reorder questions, you will need to remove the questions from the form, and then re-add them in the desired order.

How can I add a new question to the middle of an instructor preference form?

Step 1: Determine where you would like for the new question to appear.

Step 2:

  • Click on the question immediately above the desired location.

  • In the below screenshot, Question 2 has been clicked.

Step 3:

  • Click the type of question you wish to add from the “Add Question” menu on the left.

  • That type of question will then be inserted below the question you have selected.

  • In the below screenshot, a new “text” question has been added immediately after Question 2.

Does the order in which courses are listed impact how it is weighted?

No. Regardless of whether a course is listed first or last, they are all weighted equally when calculating course preference.

Troubleshooting

Course Missing from Faculty Preference Forms

Problem Overview

Your faculty are unable to select a course because it isn’t appearing in the “Course Select” dropdown.

Explanation

This will happen if the course they’re looking for hasn’t yet been added to Academic Scheduling (courses that appear in the Course Select dropdown are dependent on the courses that exist in your Scheduling environment).

Solution

If the course doesn’t exist in Scheduling, it will need to be added from the inventory. Once you do that, it should appear as an option in the Course Select dropdown.
