Private Events

Private events enable users to host events without having their event details accessible to users lacking permission, or having the event advertised on the public-facing event website

Viewing Private Events

Any User Viewing Events Within Coursedog

Once approved, private events will be subject to two separate views depending on the user’s role permission settings. To learn how to update role permissions, read below

If the user’s role permission settings do not allow them to view private event details the event will appear as follows:

All fields with the exception of ‘Event Name,’ ‘Featured Event,’ and ‘Private Event’ are redacted. It is clear to the user that they are viewing a private event given that the ‘Private Event’ field is set to ‘Yes’

If the User’s role permission settings allow them to view private event details the event will appear as follows:

Event detail fields are no longer redacted. It is still clear to the user that they are viewing a private event given that the ‘Private Event’ field is set to ‘Yes’

Granting Users Permission to View Private Events
